【摘要】:ThisspecificationcoverstwotypesandthreegradesoflatexsealantsasdescribedinSection4thatareformulatedforgeneralcaulkingandsealingoperationsinbuildingconstruction.Itshouldberecognizedbytheuserthatnotallsealantsmeetingthisspecificationaresuitableforallapplicationsandallsubstrates.Itisessential,therefore,thatthetypeandgradebespecifiedforproperdescriptionofasealant.Testmethodsrelatetospecialstandardsubstratesofglass,woodandaluminum.Iftestsarerequiredusingsubstratesinadditiontoorotherthanstandard,theyshouldbesospecifiedfortesting.RefertoGuideC1193forinformationontheproperuseofsealantsmeetingthisspecification.1.1Thisspecificationcoversonecomponentlatexsealantsusedforsealingjointsinbuildingconstruction.1.2AsealantmeetingtherequirementsofthisspecificationshallbeclassifiedbythemanufacturertobeoneofthetypesandgradesdefinedinSection4.1.3ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Theinch-poundinparenthesisareprovidedforinformationpurposesonly.1.4Thefollowingprecautionarycaveatpertainsonlytothetestmethodportion,Section10,ofthisSpecification:Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Note18212;Currently,thereisnoISOstandardsimilartothisspecification.
