【摘要】:Normally,aclosetoleranceisdesirableforcorethicknesssothatsandwichpanelsmaybemanufacturedwithallthesandwichcomponentsfittingproperlyandwithoutcrushingthecore.Thesetestmethodsaredesignedformeasuringthicknessofcoreasitisproducedandarenotintendedforuseindeterminingdimensionsofcorespecimensforothertests.Thesetestmethodsprovidestandardmethodsofobtainingthecorethicknessofflatsandwichcorematerials,andprovideabasisfordeterminingaveragethicknessdimensions.Thethicknesspropertiesderivedmaybeusedindesignproperties,materialspecifications,researchanddevelopmentapplications,andqualityassurance.Factorsthatinfluencecorethicknessmeasurementandshallthereforebereportedincludethefollowing:corematerialthrough-thicknessrigidity,surfaceroughness,specimengeometry(includingwarpage),specimenpreparation,methodsofdimensionalmeasurement,specimenconditioning,andmoisturecontentduringdimensionalmeasurements.1.1Thesetestmethodscoverplantmanufacturingproceduresformeasuringthethicknessofflatsandwichcores.Permissiblecorematerialformsincludethosewithcontinuousbondingsurfaces(suchasbalsawoodandfoams)aswellasthosewithdiscontinuousbondingsurfaces(suchashoneycomb).Thetwotestmethodscoveredincludethefollowing:1.1.1TestMethodARoller-TypeThicknessTester.1.1.2TestMethodBDisk-TypeThicknessTester.Note1Thesetestmethodsaredesignedformeasuringthicknessofcoreasitisproducedandarenotintendedforuseindeterminingdimensionsofcorespecimensforothertests.1.2ThevaluesstatedineitherSIunitsorinch-poundunitsaretoberegardedseparatelyasstandard.Withinthetexttheinch-poundunitsareshowninbrackets.Thevaluesstatedineachsystemarenotexactequivalents;therefore,eachsystemmustbeusedindependentlyoftheother.Combiningvaluesfromthetwosystemsmayresultinnonconformancewiththestandard.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
