【摘要】:ThisBritishStandardspecifiesmaterialandperformancerequirementsforcutlerywithnon-metallichandlesintendedforuseatthediningtable.Itincludesknives,forks,spoons,carvingsets,ladlesandotherservingpieces.Requirementsarespecifiedforstainlesssteelcutleryandsilver-platednickel-silverorsilver-platedstainlesssteelcutlery.Thisstandarddoesnotcovercutlerywhollymadeofpreciousmetals,aluminium,non-stainlesssteelorthatmadeentirelyofplastics,nordoesitcovergold-platedorchromium-platedcutleryexceptforchromium-platedsharpeningsteels.However,cutleryincorporatingsterlingsilvercapsandferrulesorunplatednickel-silverrivetsandcapsarewithinthescopeofthisstandard.Compositionlimitsarespecifiedforsteelsandnon-ferrousmetalsforcutlery.Requirementsarespecifiedfornon-metalhandlesmadefromthemorecommonlyusedmaterials(see4.2.4),butnotthosemadefromexoticmaterialssuchasivoryormother-of-pearl.Thestandardincludesrequirementsforcutlerywithnon-metalhandlesforuseinadishwashingmachine.Inthecaseofsilver-platedcutlery,threeminimumaveragethicknessesarespecified,first,secondandthirdclass,withdecreasingthicknessofthesilverdeposit.
