【摘要】:Cyanideisroutinelyanalyzedinwatersamples,oftentodemonstrateregulatorycompliance;however,impropersamplecollectionorpretreatmentcanresultinsignificantpositiveornegativebiaspotentiallyresultinginunnecessarypermitviolationsorundetectedcyanidereleasesintotheenvironment.1.1Thispracticeisapplicableforthecollectionandpreservationofwatersamplesfortheanalysisofcyanide.Thispracticealsoaddressesthemitigationofknowninterferencespriortotheanalysisofcyanide.1.2Thesampling,preservationandmitigationofinterferenceproceduresdescribedinthispracticearerecommendedfortheanalysisoftotalcyanide,availablecyanide,weakaciddissociablecyanide,andfreecyanidebyTestMethodsD2036,D4282,D4374,D6888,D6994,andD7237.Thispracticecanalsobeappliedtoothercyanidemethods,forexample,USEPAMethod335.4andStandardMethods4500-CN-C.1.3ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
